Background
At the 2019 AGM, mandate was received to establish a user-friendly, secure website that protected the JANZ name.
Progress
We appointed Lara Wyatt as our web designer / consultant. For a series of practical reasons around site utility and design the launch date had to be moved out. However, on 31 January 2020 we launched.
Concept design and future plans
They say a picture paints a thousand words. You have all received an invitation to log on and tune in! In summary, the concept focuses on supporting judges and their families. For security reasons it was decided to abandon any third-party ability to comment or post online. We do however welcome feedback. From comment so far, you like what you see!
As a part of the project we have formed content associations with LifeTime (our super and insurance managers), Fine Travel (an online travel service with unique opportunities for journey planning and access to industry discounts), Malcolm Hood has accepted a role as a judicial fitness coach, and the ANZ private banking service will provide content and, when asked, advice on financial matters.
We are in negotiation with other coaches who might provide content on a wide range of helpful information from nutrition to keeping fit, family life to food and wine. The plan is to complement the pan-bench approach to wellness currently under discussion by the CJ, CDCJ, and heads of bench.
We plan to take the website experience from content advisors and coaches and provide opportunities around the country for ‘time out’ for small groups of like-minded individuals to learn and experience and develop their interests in relaxed but guided events. This is consistent with our core value of support and care for each other.
Last words
Finally, a big thank you to Lara Wyatt for her creativity and patience and perseverance. We hope Lara will agree to act as web manager.
