Mike O’Donnell has been an insurance and superannuation professional since 1970. The area that he specialises in is employee benefits, which has led to his involvement with the Judiciary Insurance and Superannuation Schemes.
The Judiciary Insurance Scheme, in its current form, was set up in March 2011 but the scheme dates back to the early 1990s. This was originally established with Central Brokers Insurance Limited, which has subsequently become part of Lifetime Group Limited. Lifetime remains the managing adviser and AIA is the insurer.
The Judiciary Insurance Scheme is open to all judges and coroners and provides a wide range of insurance covers — life, income protection, and critical illness. These benefits are offered at very competitive group insurance premium rates, which, in general, are significantly lower than retail premiums. In conjunction with the pricing, there are generous automatic entry conditions on offer, making it easier to obtain these benefits. This combination makes it an excellent offer and certainly worth looking into.
The Judiciary Superannuation Plan was set up in April 2016 and provides a simple, efficient, and low-cost way to save towards your retirement. As at July 2020, the plan had 52 members and approximately $17 million funds under management. The provider of this product is AMP Wealth.
Both the Judiciary Insurance Scheme and the Judiciary Superannuation Plan have had wide acceptance within the judicial community, and Mike welcomes any enquiries about the insurance and superannuation plans.
