United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), Working Group VI (Judicial Sale of Ships), 37th session.
As this may be of interest to judges working in this area, a report on this working group session, held virtually in Vienna mid-December 2020, can be found below. This convention governs the effects, in a State Party, of the judicial sale of a ship conducted in another State Party.
This is, first, a quite general report including an edited synopsis of the more complete technical report prepared by the very efficient UNCITRAL secretariat.
The IAJ has an interest in, and is affected by, this draft instrument because it will affect the way that judges work in this area, and the effect of the things that they will do whether their state is a party or not.
JANZ will maintain a watching brief and inform our representative of any comments or contributions judges may wish to make to the working group process.
