Mark Wilton is married to Annabel, they have two boys, Henry and Oscar, aged 13 and 11. They moved from Taranaki to Wellington 10 years ago they love the little Khandallah community They have two ginger cats called Tigger and Archie who have used up all their nine lives (and more) on their busy street. Mark, formerly National Legal Counsel for the Police Prosecution Service based at Police National Headquarters (PNHQ) in Wellington, was sworn in as a coroner in early 2020.

Veteran Judge Russell Callander retired in 2013 after 35 years on the bench. He presided over hundreds of criminal jury trials and dealt with thousands of litigants and defendants in the District Court. He was Chief Justice of Samoa in the early 1980s and was a convenor of the parole board for 14 years.

District Court Judge Bill Hastings was Chief Censor for nearly 12 years. He came to New Zealand from his homeland Canada. He has three grown-up children and lives in Wellington with his partner, Jeremy. He always tells family and friends when they ask him about being in court, day in, day out, that he believes in the power of redemption. “Any human being can redeem themselves. I don't think I could be in this job if I didn't believe that.”
