Mindfulness activities for the Christmas holidays

Every year is stressful, but this year threw a few more twists and turns at us than usual. If you’re able to take a Christmas break this year, we’ve compiled several mindfulness activities for you to integrate into your time off.

Walks amongst nature

The summer holidays are a great time to get out and explore the beautiful reserves New Zealand has to offer. Pack a picnic lunch into your backpack and head off to explore the native wildlife. Breathe in the fresh air and enjoy.

Christmas yoga

Add a bit of Christmas flair to a yoga routine — it’s now a Christmas tree pose! Try do even 10 to 15 minutes of yoga as a wind-down activity at the end of each day during your holiday.

Settle in with a book

That book pile has been growing all year hasn’t it, and you haven’t had a chance to get into it. Now’s the time. Take a day, or an hour or so each day, to settle in with a book. You’ll devour them in no time, while also taking some well-deserved rest.

Kick-start that water-drinking habit

When you’re frantically on the go it can be hard to remember to stay hydrated. But you know the saying: it takes seven days to form a habit. Take seven days of your holiday to start drinking plenty of water, and take that new habit with you into 2021.
