Dear Colleagues,
As you may remember, in its meeting in Santiago del Chile, in 2017, the Central Council of the IAJ decided to set up a Working Group charged to draft guidelines and a model statute in order to promote the establishment of associations of judges in countries where there were not. The working group concluded its activities and you may find here enclosed the final official version, which has also been published on the website (https://www.iaj-uim.org/news/founding-an-association-of-judges/).
In order to contact colleagues in countries where there were not yet any associations of judges, we would be grateful if you could share with the IAJ General Secretariat the contact details of colleagues with whom your respective associations may have established institutional relations and exchange programmes and who have expressed interest in the idea of creating an association in their country. The intention of the IAJ General Secretariat is to approach them to present the initiative and then invite them to the official presentation of the publication, which will be organised online in early spring.
