Building upon UNESCO's training of over 17,000 Judges in more than 60 countries through courses on freedom of expression, access to information, and safety of journalists, UNESCO, in cooperation with several global partners, is developing a global online course in seven languages on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Rule of Law.
The course aims to strengthen capacities to address AI-related issues, ensure judges are equipped with the necessary information concerning AI-based predictive justice systems, and ensure prosecuting services in AI-related cases are aware of the rule of law as it concerns AI technology and correlated risks.
David Harvey has agreed to take the lead on this for JANZ. President of JANZ Gerard Winter says he looks forward to working closely with UNESCO on this and other judicial training initiatives especially throughout the Pacific.
