Each day we see reports of the most horrific actions done in Ukraine with unimaginable fear, pain, suffering and loss of life. We are an international association of judges committed to the rule of law and will maintain that position with all of our ability and even when things seem obvious. We do, however, call for the violence to end immediately.

On 30 March 2022, a webinar from the International Association of Judges was called to discuss what has occurred in the two years since the judicial protest march of Polish judges and their European colleagues. Founding an association of judges
As you may remember, in its meeting in Santiago del Chile, in 2017, the Central Council of the IAJ decided to set up a Working Group charged to draft guidelines and a model statute in order to promote the establishment of associations of judges in countries where there were not. The working group concluded its activities and you may find here enclosed the final official version.

The 2020 annual meeting, due to take place in Costa Rica, was postponed to 2021 and eventually, Covid-19 cancelled. In its place, this virtual meeting from Rome, Italy, will be beamed into the 87 national associations around the world over this three-day period. That means each morning between 0100 and 0300 our delegates will rise early to represent you. You can find a selection of relevant documents on this temporary sub-site. We will post more information as we approach the virtual meeting date.
